Material structure


Artificial turf consists of 3 layers of material. The basement layer is composed of compacted soil layer, gravel layer and asphalt or concrete layer. The foundation layer requires a solid, non-deformable, smooth and impervious surface, ie a general concrete site. Due to the large area of the hockey arena, the foundation layer must be handled during construction to prevent sagging. If the concrete layer is laid, the concrete should be cut out after curing to prevent thermal expansion deformation and cracks.


Above the base layer is a buffer layer, usually made of rubber or foam. Rubber elasticity moderate, thickness 3 ~ 5mm. The cost of using foam is low, but the elasticity is poor, and the thickness is 5~10mm. The over-thick lawn is too soft and easy to dent; if it is too thin and lacks elasticity, it will not achieve cushioning. The buffer layer should be firmly adhered to the base layer and generally be glued with white latex or all-purpose adhesive.

The third layer, also the surface layer, is the turf layer. According to the surface shape of the production of fluffy turf, circular curled nylon silk turf, leaf-shaped polypropylene fiber turf, nylon permeable turf composed of water. This layer must also be stuck to rubber or foam with latex. The construction must be fully gluing, pressing firmly in order, not wrinkling.


In foreign countries, there are two kinds of turf layers: 1, turf fiber is thin, only 1.2 ~ 1.5mm; 2, turf fiber is thick, 20 ~ 24mm, which is almost filled with quartz to the top of the fiber.
